Still plenty of time left to sign up for our Solidarity Event. Please take a second and register HERE or scan the QC code on this or the ones posted next to the flyers. This is a family friendly event and we would love to see a big turnout. So far we only have 5 registrants. Please help get Devin off my back and sign up today.
Please read the following and try your hardest to attend. Even if it’s for just portions of the event.
“AFGE TSA officers will rally on Tuesday, Jan. 22 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Flag Pavilion at the Sea-Tac International Airport entrance on International Blvd. to call for an immediate end to the shutdown. All union members and community supporters are invited to attend.”
I have extra signs and I might have some left over Legislative tees to outfit people that don’t have any NATCA swag. Please do NOT do this on SL. I would wager all of my IOUs that the media will be there so we need the optics of this to be jarring to regular people that may tune in.
Thank you for your time and dedication.
In my entire career, I never imagined that I would come across a situation like this. I know that we are a very proud workforce and would like to display as much. However, on the off chance that you need help, the Sumner Food Bank came by and wanted to share contact information and make themselves available to help in these times.

None of this should be happening, but it is. Please use this or keep the Sumner food Bank in mind if you need help. Also, don’t hesitate to ask me and your E Board for additional assistance. Absolute discretion will be maintained. Take care of yourselves.
Newly elected Congresswoman Kim Schrier (WA-08) will be visiting the facility tomorrow at about 1415L. She only has about a half hour so Denise Spencer and I plan to take her through our empty training department as well as our unused labs and then a quick walk through the floor. If you have some NATCA gear, please consider wearing it. Hopefully this is the first of many visits and we can leave a mark on how this unnecessary shutdown must end. Please remember that we are only asking for an end to the shutdown. Any partisan talk by us can be a Hatch Act violation.
By the way, the leafletting turnout has been awesome. The weekend is still wide open and I am trying to secure spots for next week (if needed). Please consider helping out.
Fartun Strutin and the newest addition getting the word out
As the longest government shutdown in history continues here’s an opportunity to get out and spread the word to the people as to why this is wholly unnecessary and detrimental to our profession and lives. From now through Sunday (9 am - 7 pm) we have spots reserved to pass out leaflets at Sea-Tac Airport on most of the SkyBridges. Please keep in mind that this is an effort to advocate for an end to the shutdown and not an effort to assign partisan blame. We need all the help we can get. If you are interested in joining in spreading the word, respond to this email, use the ZSE Local Slack (easiest way to organize), contact a member of your E Board, or call/text me at 206.406.0194. You will be assigned a slot to participate by one of us. Please coordinate with us as the Port of Seattle has strict rules on how many people can be in certain areas.
We must do everything in our power to bring an end to this senseless shutdown. The bigger the numbers, the harder it is to ignore us. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope to see some of you there.
